Beginning in September 2024, the Eli Whitney Museum & Workshop is launching a new two-year artist-in-residence program.
This residency is intended for an emerging to mid-career artist who desires a place to explore and experiment.
We are looking for a passionate artist or artisan who is excited about education and becoming an active part of EWMW community.
EWMW will provide:
A studio space with an adjacent storage space and bathroom with heating and water utilities included
Space Dimensions: Studio Space of 32.24' x 14.63', Bathroom of 8.59' x 5.58', and Alcove of 11.42' x 6.87'
Shop support
Facilities maintenance
Promotional support: marketing for the annual Open Studios event and other programs
The artist will provide:
Promotional images of artwork and professional headshot for marketing
Yearly Open Studio exhibition in the Eli Whitney Barn
One week of summer camp for youth
Donations to the museum's annual fundraiser, the Leonardo Challenge
A fall and spring adult workshop for ages 16+
Electrical Utilities
Applicants will be reviewed by three paid community members.
